Club Charter / Strategic Plan

Providing club members with an environment that encourages full participation in tennis and all aspects of club life.

Introduction
Lynfield Tennis Club is a community built club that has operated since the mid 1970s. The club was foundered on the need to provide a community facility that engaged people and tennis.

Community members worked to fundraise the needed revenue to build the original clubhouse and courts. This was done in partnership with the local Community Board, a partnership that has been sustained throughout the years.

The club prides itself on being an open and friendly place where tennis players, their families and the community are encouraged to make use of the facilities.

The courts have been recently resurfaced and a new clubhouse was built in 2000. These projects have ensured that the club has been well maintained and developed.

This charter and strategic plan builds on the successes of the past and sets a direction for the next five years.

Consultation
The management committee and senior committee attended a special meeting at which goals and aspirations for the club future were discussed. Specific tasks needed to achieve these goals were also identified. From this meeting the club’s charter was drafted and circulated to senior and management committee members for comment. A draft plan was then made available to all club members for comment. These comments have been included into the final plan.
